Several Samsung smartphones are billed to update to Android 7.0 Nougat, including the entire Galaxy A series for 2016 and the Galaxy Note 5. The following smartphones including the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A8, Galaxy A9 and Galaxy A9 Pro will receive the latest Google software. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is also expected to update to Android 7.0 Nougat at some point and a recent leak reveals details of the software being run on the 2015 smartphone flagship smartphone.

Samsung appears to be proactive about its smartphone updates in the wake of the Galaxy Note 7 discontinuation. The manufacturer is currently beta testing Android 7.0 Nougat for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge and simultaneously. Android Nougat for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge is currently in development. Geekbench benchmarks for these devices have also surfaced, revealing Nougat software.

The Galaxy Tab S2 tablet is also expected to receive Android 7.0, around the same time as the Galaxy Note 5. At this time Samsung has not confirmed update information for the Note 5 or the Tab S2. However, reports indicate that Samsung is currently working on adapting the Galaxy Note 7 “Grace” user interface for the Galaxy Note 5.

Updates for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are expected to begin as early as mid-December, after which users should begin to see more information about updates for other Samsung devices.

Android 7.0 Nougat is now rolling out -
Just when we were begining to come to grips with the Android Marshmallow, Android releases the Android Nougat 7.0 OS.

Google has started the rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat to supported devices. These are the Huawei Nexus 6P, LG Nexus 5X, Motorola Nexus 6, HTC Nexus 9, Asus Nexus Player, Google Pixel C, and General Mobile 4G.
The release comes a little more than a month after the final Android 7.0 Developer Preview became available, keeping with Google's revamped timeline this year. Since the company is doing things differently in 2016, there are no new Nexus devices becoming official today.
Doze on the Go in Android 7.0 Nougat
As is usually the case with Android system updates, the rollout of Android 7.0 should take weeks to complete, so don't panic if your beloved Nexus isn't showing an update notification in the next ten minutes. Devices that are currently running the Developer Preview will be updated too, by the way.
