Several Samsung smartphones are billed to update to Android 7.0 Nougat, including the entire Galaxy A series for 2016 and the Galaxy Note 5. The following smartphones including the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A8, Galaxy A9 and Galaxy A9 Pro will receive the latest Google software. These devices are mid-range, but have gotten more prompt and frequent software updates, along the lines of flagship smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is also expected to update to Android 7.0 Nougat at some point and a recent leak reveals details of the software being run on the 2015 smartphone flagship smartphone. Samsung appears to be proactive about its smartphone updates in the wake of the Galaxy Note 7 discontinuation.
